Christy & Jason Whitt
Jason grew up in the small town of Lavalette, WV and is a graduate of the College of Engineering at University of Kentucky in 1996. From the Bluegrass state, he has been in the steel business for Steel Technologies, HQ in Louisville, KY, where he has relocated to Detroit, MI, Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN and now resides in Brentwood, TN. He has held several positions including Metallurgical Engineer to the current position as General Manager of Sales and Engineering. This organization is a leader in the steel processing business and services over 2,500 customers in North America. Making raw materials for anything from Automobile hoods to specialty products such as hand-cuffs. He enjoys snow skiing in the winter and anything around water in the summer (including golf) along with support of the local professional sports teams in Nashville – our beloved Predators and Titans.
Christy was born and raised in Owensboro, KY. She grew up a UK fan and was able to attend the University of Kentucky for college. She showed her support of the university by becoming a UK cheerleader and UK Wildcat Danzer, and graduated from the College of Business Administration at University of Kentucky in 1998. With working many odd jobs through college, after graduation, Christy was able to use her degree to obtain a sales position with ADP, a payroll and Human resource company. Christy was successful and able stay within this industry in Lexington KY, Louisville KY and Indianapolis, IN. When relocated to Indianapolis area, Christy started her career in the pharmaceutical industry by becoming a Pharmaceutical Representative working a short time with Bertek Pharmaceuticals then hired on my Merck & Co for the majority of her career. Christy was with Merck & Co for over 10 years in the Indianapolis, IN area calling on many different types of physicians with many different products, then relocated with Merck & Co, to the Nashville, TN area in 2013. While working 1 ½ years in the Nashville area with Merck & Co, in 2014 Christy decided to work from home and focus on family life. She enjoys family and friends, skiing in the winter, and is always happy to be next to the ocean and on the beach at any time of the year.
Jason and Christy are from two different states, but met each other at one mutual place, the University of Kentucky. While Jason was involved in his fraternity Delta Tau Delta, and Christy was involved in cheerleading and dance team, the two became friends. Shortly after, they started dating and have been together ever since. Jason and Christy dated mainly long distance for six years while living in different cities before getting married on August 18th 2001. The marriage took place at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. A place both had lived at one point in time, and a middle location so all family and friends from WV and western KY could attend. Jason and Christy lived as a newlywed couple in Fishers, IN. While there years later in April 2008, they extended their family by welcoming their first child, a beautiful little girl named Jacy Leen Whitt. In April 2010, they were blessed to welcome their second child, another sweet girl named Juliane Queen Whitt. Jason was starting to work more in TN for his career, so in 2013 the entire family was able to relocate to the Nashville, TN area. The family was blessed once again in October 2014, by welcoming their 3rd child, a handsome baby boy named Coleman Scott Whitt. Since making TN home, the Whitt family has become complete. Developing friendships, getting involved in community organizations, and supporting local professional sports teams, the Whitt family is finally putting down roots.
Jason and Christy have always been supportive of charity organizations. With Jason’s father passing away from cancer and his mother winning the fight with breast cancer, they have always supported the American Cancer Association. Christy’s father passed away from a sudden heart attack in 2010, and they have attended and supported the American Heart Association Gala for the last 5 years with friends that have also lost loved ones from heart disease. Currently they are working with the Salvation Army in adopting children from the Angel Tree. They are looking forward to working with My Friends House and supporting in any way they can. They have been aware of this organization for a couple of years, through some very good friends, Kevin and Jennifer Hacker. They are also friends and past neighbors with a family that has adopted a young man and expanded their beautiful family through this wonderful organization.
